Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

SUBJECT: RELO AMMAN REQUEST EXTRA FUNDING FOR JORDANIAN
TEFL PROJECTS DURING SUMMER 2003
1. RELO requests $25,000 to support English teaching
initiative in Jordan. The funds will be used as
follows:
2. Support distance learning Content Based
Instruction (CBI) for secondary teachers and small
entrepreneurs by adapting two telecourses for use for
broadcast in Jordan. The courses are the "Mechanical
Universe" for teaching high school and university
physics and "By the Numbers" a course to enhance the
business skills of start-up small entrepreneurs. The
money will be used to provide lead-ins to each of the
26 episodes in each series. In addition, a website
will be created for teacher reference and self-study.
3. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education,
RELO plans to train 250 Jordanian secondary teachers in
using Information Technology in the teaching of
English. This project will take place at the American
Language Center in Amman. In addition, to hiring
locally available experts to teach the courses, funds
are needed for materials and Internet expenses. This
project will dovetail with the projects described
above.
