(S) MFA Minstate Shaykh Hamdan bin Zayid (HBZ) contacted the Ambassador 6/13 to say that the UAEG had received a request from former Iraqi Information Minister Al-Sahhaf to travel to the UAE. Shaykh Hamdan said that before responding to Al-Sahhaf, the UAEG wanted to know if there were any USG sensitivities regarding Al-Sahhaf's traveling here. HBZ did not state what the purpose of Al-Sahhaf's travel was or the intended duration of his stay in the UAE. We note that former Iraqi Ambassador to the UN Muhammad Al-Douri now works for Dubai-based, pan-Arab satellite channel Al-Arabiyya. 4.
