US embassy cable - 03ANKARA3393

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(SBU) U.S. military contractor Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR)
told econoff May 22 that the operation to purchase and
deliver Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) and benzine (gasoline)
from Turkey to Northern Iraq is proceeding on track
(reftels). Since May 10, KBR has delivered approximately
3,000 metric tons of Turkish LPG and 13 million liters of
benzine to Iraq, which will be donated as humanitarian
assistance to Iraqi civilians. KBR is now delivering 680
metric tons of LPG and 3.7 million liters of benzine from
Turkey to Iraq daily. The contractor expects the daily
quantities of LPG delivered to ramp up to 1,360 metric tons
by May 25. KBR reports that the GOT is facilitating the
operation.
