Per Ref B, Mission conveyed the points on the United States' decision to seek reentry into UNESCO and our candidacy for the executive board to the Sri Lankan and Maldivian governments. The Maldivian government has replied that it welcomes the decision by the U.S. to rejoin UNESCO and looks forward to working closely with us matters of mutual interest. Mission has had no response from the GSL as of yet on this matter. 2. Minimize considered. WILLS
