1.  The Embassy received a fax from the Department of 
External Resources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the 
Republic of Maldives responding to our request for data 
required for the Millennium Challenge Account.  All figures 
are in millions of Maldives Rufiyaa.  Data within 
parenthesis indicate deficits.  Data for 2000 and 2001 are 
actuals.  Data for 2002 are provisional.  The data reported 
by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs match closely with data 
reported in the Statistical Appendix issued with the IMF 
Staff Report for Maldives for 2002. 
 
2.  Overall budget balance including grants:

2002:  Rf (595.6)
