Deutsch. Reason: 1.5(b)(d) 1. (C) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Serra Erarslan, Turkish MFA Department Head for Iraq, Gulf Countries and OIC. 2. (C) Erarslan noted that Prime Minister Gul, MFA Under Secretary Ambassador Ziyal, and Middle East Director SIPDIS Ambassador Borcuoglu are leaving this afternoon for Doha. As to the text of the demarche, she commented that the GOT has sent a clear message to the Iraqi leadership (regarding Saddam's need to comply with UN resolutions). Erarslan said, "We will work along those lines at the OIC. Rest assured." PEARSON
