US embassy cable - 05ASUNCION1466

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

In recognition of Human Rights Day 2005, on 12/6, Post will
have a presentation of "Dying To Leave," an ECA documentary
which explores the recent boom in illicit migration and human
trafficking. The Charge will give brief remarks about
trafficking in persons. Other speakers will present talks on
violence against women, particularly domestic violence. Our
co-sponsors include the Secretariat of Women's Affairs, the
Paraguayan American Cultural Center, and Kuna Aty, a local
NGO that provides assistance to women and children victims of
domestic violence.
