Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS PARAMARIBO 000756 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AORC, NS, IMO SUBJECT: DEMARCHE ON IMO CANDIDACY - SURINAME REFS: (A) STATE 207080 Ministry of Transport Permanent Secretary Marlene Harris told DCM on November 18 that Suriname would support the U.S. candidate's reelection to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) council. Reftel points were also delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via diplomatic note, although Harris said that she was instructing the Surinamese delegation, which had already departed Suriname but with whom she was in e-mail contact. She observed that while she understood only ten incumbent candidates were contesting the ten seats in Category A in the council, Suriname appreciated the courtesy of the request. BARNES NNNN
