(U) On November 16, PolOff delivered reftel demarche to Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Division of Multilateral Cooperation and International Organizations. Mulamula said the Government of Tanzania (GOT) would send a strong recommendation to its delegation to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly to support the United States' bid for a Category A seat on the IMO Council, especially since there are the same number of vacancies and candidates for that category. 2. (U) Mulamula said the GOT would send to the IMO Assembly in London a delegation from the Ministry of Transport and Communication and that the Tanzanian High Commission in London would represent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
