Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

SUBJECT: UN THIRD COMMITTEE RESOLUTIONS - DEMARCHE TO
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
REF: A. STATE 204646
B. SANTO DOMINGO 5102
1. (C) Embassy on November 8 delivered Ref A para 5 talking
points on U.S. voting priorities in the UN Third Committee to
MFA UN affairs director Michelle Cohen as a non-paper, and
emphasized in conversation with her that approval of the Iran
resolution was our top priority and that the Dominican
Republic should join us in opposing no-action motions. Cohen
said she would communicate our views to the senior levels of
the MFA. On November 16, Ambassador delivered a separate
demarche on the Iran resolution to Foreign Minister Carlos
Morales Troncoso, who replied that the Dominican Republic
would vote in favor of that resolution (as already reported
Ref B).
