US embassy cable - 05DUBLIN1409

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. On November 16, emboff delivered reftel points to
Department of Foreign Affairs Americas Section Third
Secretary Margaret Stanley. Stanley confirmed previous Irish

SIPDIS
contributions to the Organization of American States (OAS)
Mission in Bogota as the following:

--euro 130,000 core-funding to the Mission (per year for
three years, 2005-2007)
(Please note the amount quoted by Stanley differs from reftel
amounts).

2. Stanley also said that Ireland will soon announce an
additional contribution of euro 130,000 to boost the human
rights mandate of the Inter-American Commission on Human
Rights (IACHR). She added that the GOI will review this
contribution again next year to decide on continued financing
of IACHR's human rights programs.
