Cahalane said that Ireland supports the adoption of a Third Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions creating a neutral Emblem for the Red Cross/Crescent Movement. He added that while Ireland is unlikely to make an individual statement backing the protocol the Irish support will be realized by a statement likely to be made by the EU Presidency.
