MARGARYAN TO THE MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE CORPORATION

1. (SBU) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Armenia transmitted, via diplomatic note
No. 8/13455 dated November 17, 2005, a letter from
Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan to John Hewko,
Vice President of the Country Programs of the
Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), expressing
gratitude to the MCC for the efforts in providing
assessment of the proposal presented by the
Government of Armenia and drafting the compact.
2. (SBU) The text of the letter follows (original in
English). Begin text:
Yerevan, November 14, 2005
Dear Mr. Hewko,
I want to express our gratitude to the Millennium
Challenge Corporation for the efforts in providing
assessment of the Proposal presented by the
Government of Armenia and drafting the compact.
Please, be informed that on November 14, 2005, the
Board of Trustees of the Millennium Challenge
Account-Armenia held a meeting to discuss the draft
compact prior to its submission to the MCC
Investment Committee. The Board of Trustees
approved the draft of the Millennium Challenge
Compact between The United States of America Acting
through The Millennium Challenge Corporation and the
Government of the Republic of Armenia.
I would like to once more thank you for the interest
to the Proposal of the Government of Armenia and all
the efforts made during the Due Diligence Stage.
