UNCLAS DJIBOUTI 001139 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: AORC, EWWT, PHSA, KTIA, IMO SUBJECT: DEMARCHE DELIVERED INTERNATIONAL MARITIME ORGANIZATION REF STATE 207808 1. Charge d'Affaires David W. Ball called on Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director of Bilateral Relations Mohamed Ali Hassan to inform the Government of Djibouti of and seek support for the re-election of the United States to the International Maritime Organization Council (IMO) in Category "A." Charge utilized reftel talking points. Mr. Hassan said he was familiar with the IMO and, while he felt certain that Djibouti would be supportive of US candidacy, he would convey the request to the appropriate government officials. BALL
