US embassy cable - 05PRETORIA4512

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (U) Post delivered reftel points on November 8 to Gavin
Morkel, Deputy Director for International Affairs at the
Department of Communications (DOC). Morkel told Econoff that
DOC had planned to send three representatives to the ITU
meeting in Geneva on November 7-11, but later decided against
it. Econoff urged Morkel to send in a statement of support
for the U.S. position on the TSAG Single Member State Veto.
Post will advise Washington once DOC determines its position.
