UNCLAS BANGKOK 006843 SIPDIS STATE PASS USTR FOR DWOSKIN, HAFEMEISTER USDA/FAS FOR ROBERTS, YOUNG E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: ETRD, ECON, EAGR, EU, TH SUBJECT: THAILAND REACTION TO EU AGRICULTURE PROPOSAL REF: SECSTATE 199861 1. Embassy delivered talking points on the EU agriculture proposal to the RTG Ministry of Commerce as requested in reftel. Ms. Sirinart Chaimun of the Ministry's Department of Trade Negotiations said that the RTG shared essentially the same view as the U.S. of the EU proposal and considered it to be inadequate. As a member of the G-20, the RTG would like to see the EU proposal meet the G-20's more ambitious goals on market access and domestic support. BOYCE
