Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

TAGS: PREL, PTER, BA, IR
SUBJECT: BAHRAIN: DEMARCHE ON IRANIAN PRESIDENT'S REMARKS
REF: A. STATE 199863
B. STATE 199225
Classified by DCM Susan L. Ziadeh for reasons 1.4 (b) and (d).
(C) Pol/Econ chief October 30 delivered demarches in reftels
concerning Iranian President Ahmadi-Nejad's remarks to MFA
Assistant Under Secretary for Coordination and Follow Up
Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa. Shaikh Abdul Aziz
listened carefully to the demarches and promised to pass the
information to Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid. He commented
that when presenting demarches of this type to Islamic
countries, the U.S. should always restate its commitment to
resolution of the Israel-Palestine peace track. This would
emphasize the United States' even-handedness when dealing
with issues involving Israel.
