US embassy cable - 05AMMAN8455

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) Poloffs delivered reftel talking points to acting chief
of the Foreign Ministry's International Organizations and
Foreign Relations Department (IROD), Jamal Al-Shamayleh, on
October 19. Shamayleh said he would study our proposal to
hold expert-level CWC discussions at The Hague during the
Conference of State parties November 7-11. On October 26,
Shamayleh and Khaled Al-Takhayneh (also from IROD) told
Poloff that Jordan would not have anyone at The Hague who could
address the CWC, and requested that further CWC discussions
be carried out during the week of December 12 in Amman as
suggested reftel.
