Action Request - see paragraph 4. 2. Polcouns delivered the demarche on the October 3-7 Summit of the Americas Negotiating Session (Reftel) to the Foreign Ministry's Director of Multilateral Affairs, Julio Garro, and Action Officer for the OAS and Summit of the Americas, Romulo Acurio, on 10/24. 3. Garro said that Peru has been working pro-actively to push for consensus in the SIRG process and would continue to do so. With respect to the USG's proposal to eliminate the paragraph on "Institutional framework for decent work" (number 26), Garro requested more information on the specific objections we have to the issues raised and "problematic language" used. 4. ACTION REQUEST: Please provide guidance to respond to Garro's questions regarding the USG's specific objections to the substance and language of the paragraph on "Institutional framework for decent work."
