Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Per reftel request, on October 19, Post's Econ Officer
hosted an outreach event for six officials from Suriname's
Bureau of Intellectual Property and the Ministry of Trade
and Industry. Post showed the video on geographical
indications (GI). Following the video, EconOff discussed
the U.S. position on the protection of trademarks and GI
and explained the ongoing debate in the WTO. The
participants agreed to take the U.S. position into
consideration, but did not express a position. Post will
report further any development of Suriname's position.
