LEVY E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: ETRD, ECON, EAID, PE SUBJECT: DEMARCHE ON WORLD CUSTOMS ORGANIZATION DELIVERED REF: SECSTATE 185713 We delivered reftel demarche on the World Customs Organization (WCO) to Enrique Vejaran Velasquez, Deputy Chief of SUNAT, Peru's Tax and Customs Authority, on October 17. Mr. Vejaran thanked us for the information, particularly the sample Letter of Intent, and noted that the GOP has not yet made a decision on whether to sign the Letter of Intent to implement the WCO framework. He will discuss the issue with the Director of SUNAT and will inform us of the GOP's decision. STRUBLE
