US embassy cable - 05AMMAN8215

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

Econ Counselor delivered Commerce Secretary Gutierrez's
letter and talking points on UNESCO's cultural diversity
convention to Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade, Sharif
Al Zu'bi, on October 17, urging him to consider the U.S.
points and to pass instructions to the Jordanian delegation
to UNESCO in Paris. The Minister agreed to review the
points, but made no further comment. A copy of the letter
and related points were also delivered to the private office
of Foreign Minister Farouq Kasrawi, following up an earlier
demarche to the MFA (Amman 08024).
