On October 7, Embassy received a diplomatic note in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the text of Resolution 110, approved by the Colombian Senate on September 27, to the USG. In the resolution, the Senate expresses its sorrow for and solidarity with the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. 2. Begin translated text: The Senate of the Republic expresses its sorrow and solidarity with the Government and the people of the United States of America. We regret the tragedy faced by the cities and towns located near the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain as a result of the most catastrophic natural phenomenon in your history -- Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
