UNCLAS DJIBOUTI 000986 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: SCUL, ETRD, DJ SUBJECT: DEMARCHE REQUEST: UNESCO CONVENTION ON CULTURAL EXPRESSIONS REF: SECSTATE 170909 1. (U) Pol/Econ delivered demarche per reftel 21 September to Mohamed Bourhan, Americas Bureau in the Department of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Bourhan said he would take the draft document of the convention and the U.S. position to his superiors for consideration. He was not able to comment on Djibouti's position regarding the convention at the time but did indicate that Djibouti would most likely send a representative from either one of its Embassies in Europe or the MFA to the UNESCO General Conference.
