Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. Post held its first quarterly meeting of the Trade
Agreement Compliance and Monitoring Committee on October 24
in Abuja. The Committee is chaired by the DCM, and the
Embassy's Economic Section serves as secretariat. Other
members are USAID's Office of Economic Growth, Energy, and
Infrastructure and three offices from the Consulate General
in Lagos: the Economic Section, Foreign Commercial Service,
and Foreign Agricultural Service.
2. Committee members agreed on the following objective:
"Identify possible GON violations of trade agreements to
which both Nigeria and the United States are party. Report
those violations to Washington-based trade-agencies. Based on
Washington-agency instructions, advocate for GON compliance
with its trade agreements."
3. The next Committee meeting will be held in early January
in Lagos. In the interim, members will track possible GON
violations of trade agreements for reporting to Washington
and eventual inclusion in Post's National Trade Estimate
submission.
