C O N F I D E N T I A L KUWAIT 004142 SIPDIS STATE FOR S/WCI - HODGEKINSON AND NEA/ARPI E.O. 12958: DECL: 09/21/2015 TAGS: PTER, KAWC, PHUM, PINR, KU, TERRORISM SUBJECT: DIPLOMATIC NOTE ON KUWAITI DETAINEES AT GUANTANAMO DELIVERED TO GOK REF: STATE 174005 Classified By: Deputy Chief of Mission Tueller for reasons 1.4 (b) and (d) (C) DCM delivered reftel diplomatic note to Khaled Mohammed Al-Maqamis, Director of the Coordination and Follow-Up Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 21. Al-Maqamis reacted to the dipnote by stating that the GOK was under increasing public pressure to push for resolution on the cases of the remaining eleven Kuwaiti Guantanamo detainees, especially in light of the hunger strikes.
