This is an action cable. See paragraph 4. 2. The Turkish Government has formally offered an assistance package totaling $2.5 million for Hurricane Katrina, including $1.5 million cash donation sent to the American Red Cross, and USD 1 million of in-kind assistance to be determined (Ref A). 3. With respect to in-kind assistance the GOT could most quickly provide (drawing from Ref B list), MFA passed the following list to Econoff on September 15: (Most quickly and easily:) -large tents -first-aid kits -cleaning supplies (Next most quickly:) -small generators -bedding: sheets and blankets -baby formula and diapers 4. Embassy requests Washington's guidance on how to respond to the GOT's offer and additional information, which came from a coordination meeting today of the Turkish TGS, MFA, Red Crescent, and TEMA (Turkey Emergency Management Agency).
