1. Poloff delivered Ref B invitation from U/S Burns to Andrea
Droppelmann, Special Assistant to Foreign Ministry Director
General for External Relations Carlos Portales (the MFA's
number 3) on September 12. Droppelmann said she would
forward the invitation to Portales, who is currently in
Madrid and will be traveling to New York later this week to
attend the UNGA meetings.
2. Droppelman confirmed that Ambassador Portales would be in
New York on September 16. She suggested we follow up
directly with the Chilean Mission regarding his participation
in the meeting.
