UNCLAS SAN SALVADOR 002519 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, ECON, AEMR, ASEC, CASC, MARR, AMGT, US, HURRICANE KATRINA SUBJECT: KATRINA HURRICANE TASK FORCE (EL SALVADOR RESPONSE) REF: STATE 162226 1. This message summarizes all ES offerings received as of September 9 for the Hurricane Task Force. 2. GOES has offered up to 200,000 pounds of ready-to-eat rations (7000 of which could be airlifted by the ES military) and 150 military personnel to assist with logistics or search and rescue. Post is aware that the USG is unable to accept the rations. 3. An ES Private sector source has offered up to 14,500 liters of water (15,000 half-liter, and 7,000 one-liter bottles). The water is certified in a variety of states (MI, NY, SC, FL, CT, PA, CA, NJ and AZ), and by several international organizations. A second private sector source has tentatively offered several 1000 pairs of shoes. Butler
