SUBJECT: 60TH UNGA HIGH LEVEL ATTENDANCE: JORDAN UPDATE

B. STATE 122846
1. Head of State: King Abdullah II, accompanied by his wife
Queen Rania, is currently scheduled to arrive in Washington,
D.C. on September 12. They will travel to New York City for
the High-Level Event the following day (September 13),
departing New York on September 16. All travel will be via
private aircraft. The King will not be present for the
General Debate and does not require any language
interpretation.
2. Head of Government: Prime Minister Adnan Badran will not
attend the High-Level Event or the UNGA.
3. Foreign Minister: Foreign Minister Farouq Kasrawi,
accompanied by his wife Muazaz Kasrawi, will arrive in New
York City on September 13 from Jordan at approximately 16:40
via Royal Jordanian Airlines flight 261. Their departure
date is currently uncertain. Kasrawi does not require any
language interpretation.
4. Foreign Ministry official responsible for IO affairs:
The Director of the Foreign Ministry's International
Organizations Department, Abdel Latif Bawab, will not attend
the High-Level Event or the UNGA.
