UNCLAS ANKARA 005191 SIPDIS FOR EB/TRA E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EAIR, ECON, TU SUBJECT: GOT SENDING MONTREAL CONVENTION TO PARLIAMENT FOR RATIFICATION REF: SECSTATE 159746 On September 1, econoff met with MFA Head of Aviation, Ahmet Bigali. Bigali stated that the Montreal Convention will go to Parliament for ratification when it reconvenes in October. He added that the GOT previously passed regulations related to the Montreal Convention and thus its ratification is mostly a formality. MCELDOWNEY
