US embassy cable - 05AMMAN7081

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) In the absence of Foreign Minister Kasrawi, Charge and
poloff presented reftel letter from the Secretary and talking
points on September 5 to Nabih Shuqom, Secretary General of
the Foreign Ministry. Shuqom said he would deliver the
letter to FM Kasrawi upon his return to Amman that evening.
He added that while the GOJ had concerns related to the
actions of national liberation movements, it clearly opposed
and denounced all forms of terrorism. He was hopeful that
agreement could be reached in New York on language that would
conclude the convention without further delay.
