MFA Director for International Affairs Amb. Michele Cohen told EcoPol counselor and poloff on August 31 that President Fernandez will speak at the UNGA on September 16. Embassy has just received a diplomatic note announcing that Fernandez and Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade are inviting UNSYG Annan to a breakfast on September 16 to discuss the "digital divide" and funding for developing countries. 2. President Fernandez travels to Washington on September 12 for "Dominican Week" programs with the American Chamber of Commerce, the Inter-American Dialogue and the Dominican Embassy; he will be in New York on September 13 for another private event. 3. Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Tronocos confirmed to EcoPol counselor on August 19 that he would accompany the president for the September 16 event but noted that the dates of his travel are not yet fixed; he has events to attend in Central America around that time. 4. Amb. Cohen said that she is working now with Deputy FM Liriano to fix the details of the UNGA delegation and she will advise the Embassy as soon as this information is available. KUBISKE
