(SBU) The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told us that they had little information concerning the 5th Session of the Codex Ad Hoc Intergovernmental Task Force on Foods Derived from Biotechnology in Chiba, Japan, 19-23 September 2005, and had no intention to send on official representative or submit written comments for consideration by participants. The Armenian Ministry for Trade and Economic Development, and the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture also had minimal knowledge of this conference and had no plans to attend. EVANS
