Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

SUBJECT: AMBASSADOR REITERATES U.S CONCERN OVER SYRIAN
INTERFERENCE IN LEBANON TO FOREIGN MINISTER
REF: A. KUWAIT 3775
B. KUWAIT 3730
Classified By: Ambassador Richard LeBaron for reasons 1.4 (b) and (d)
(C) The Ambassador reiterated U.S. concerns over Syrian
interference in Lebanon to Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Shaykh
Dr. Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah in an August 27 meeting.
The Ambassador stated that Syria has refused to cooperate
with the investigation into the assassination of former
Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Al-Hariri. The FM asked how
the GOK should interpret the August 25 UN Security Council
statement urging all states to cooperate with the
investigation. The Ambassador responded that the statement,
while not mentioning Syria by name, was clearly aimed
directly at the Syrian leadership, and provided text of
Ambassador Bolton's remarks to the FM.
