UNCLAS BANGKOK 005214 SIPDIS SENSITIVE DEPARTMENT FOR EAP E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: PREL, KNNP, PARM, KN, KS, TH, Six Party Talks SUBJECT: SIX-PARTY TALKING POINTS DELIVERED/FOREIGN MINISTER TO VISIT PYONGYANG REF: STATE 147143 1. (SBU) Poloff delivered reftel talking points to Surapon Petch-Vra, Director of East Asian Affairs - North and South Korea; Piroon Laismit, Director of East Asian Affairs - China and Japan; and Amornsate Singha, Director North America at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Points were received without comment. 2. (SBU) Separately, MFA officials confirmed that Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon will travel to China and North Korea from approximately August 23-30. Kantathi is tentatively scheduled to travel to Beijing on August 23 for two or three days of meetings. Kantathi will then travel to Pyongyang for two to three days before returning to Beijing for an additional day of consultations. BOYCE
