Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS DJIBOUTI 000784 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EAID, EFIN, PREL, DJ SUBJECT: DATA REQUEST: DJIBOUTI ASSISTANCE TO THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY REF: SECSTATE 146261 1. (U) Pol/Econ delivered demarche per reftel 10 August to Director of Bilateral Relations, Mohamed Ali Hassan. Hassan looked into the issue and replied 11 August. Djibouti has no records of any assistance in the 2000-2005 time frame. There is no regular assistance to the Palestinian Authority, with the exception of the occasion when Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat was ill in 2004. Djibouti's Council of Ministers granted the sum of 1 day of each Djiboutian civil servant's salary to the Palestinian Authority to aid in that crisis. Hassan did not know the sum of this grant, but said he would get back to Pol/Econ on that point. RAGSDALE
