Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS MASERU 000404 SIPDIS FOR S/WCI AND AF/S E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KISL, KPAO, PGOV, PREL, LT SUBJECT: DISTRIBUTING INFORMATION RE: GITMO AND DETAINEES REF: STATE 139288 1. Post notes that the conflict in Iraq and associated issues receive very little coverage in the media in Lesotho. The few media reports on these topics have not been critical of the USG. 2. Similarly, GOL representatives and other interlocutors rarely discuss such issues formally or informally with the Embassy. In meetings with Embassy officers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has occasionally commented, in general, on the threat of terrorism, expressing support for USG policy. Post has provided him a copy of the talking points in ref. ALBRECHT
