Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

C O N F I D E N T I A L AMMAN 006116 SIPDIS E.O. 12958: DECL: 07/31/2015 TAGS: PREL, PTER, KPAL, IZ, JO SUBJECT: DEMARCHE ON SHARM AL-SHEIKH SUMMIT: JORDAN REF: STATE 141247 Classified By: CDA David Hale for Reasons 1.4 (b), (d) (C) Charge delivered reftel demarche July 31 to FM Qasrawi. Qasrawi replied that he was leaving for Egypt the morning of August 1 to meet with other foreign ministers prior to the summit, and that he understood the summit's limited agenda would address three subjects: terrorism, Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He remarked that he did not know what issues would be raised with respect to Iraq, but that he understood that peace process discussions would focus on Gaza disengagement. As Qasrawi expected substantive talks at the summit to be relatively brief (i.e., "a few hours"), he doubted that there would be time for debate on either the UN Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism or the issue of MDA membership in the International Red Cross/Crescent Movement. Jordan's summit delegation had not yet been decided. HALE
