Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

REF: A. AMMAN 05839

Jordanian citizen Khalid Mahmoud Abdul Wahab al-Asmar was
returned to Jordan on July 20 after being released from
detention at the U.S. facility in Guantanamo Bay (ref A).
The July 23 local Arabic daily Al Dustoor reported him
claiming that detainees at Guantanamo suffered from "inhumane
practices" at the hands of U.S. troops (ref B). He further
alleged that U.S. soldiers had repeatedly "desecrated" the
Koran. Al-Asmar stated he had not faced any harassment since
his arrival in Jordan, although he was questioned for several
hours by state security services and then released.
