UNCLAS PARIS 005098 SIPDIS STATE FOR EB/TRA AND EUR/WE E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: EWWT, MARR, NZ, AS, FR SUBJECT: VISIT OF FEDERAL TRAINING SHIP GOLDEN BEAR - 2005 TRAINIING CRUISES REF. STATE 20779 (U) On 19 May, Embassy received a diplomatic note dated 21 July granting clearance to the Golden Bear to call at Papeete on 8 to 11 August. The text of the note reads as follows: "The French Foreign Ministry presents its compliments to the U.S. Embassy and referring to its request of no. 337 of 21 July 2005 and has the honor to convey the fact that the French authorities have given their agreement to the calls of the vessel "Golden Bear" at Papeete from 8 to 11 August 2005. (Complimentary close)."
