(C) Polmiloff discussed reftel points with Angelique Eijpe (MFA, Senior Policy Officer, Middle East Department) on July 22. Eijpe appreciated the points, noting that the Netherlands is actively following the border blockage and had already raised similar points bilaterally with the Syrian government. Eijpe also stated that the issue has come up in the EU framework. As a result of the July 18 GAERC, the EU Presidency demarched the Syrian government on the blockage of cross-border traffic with Lebanon. BLAKEMAN
