Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS THE HAGUE 002023 SIPDIS DEPT FOR S/WCI E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: KAWC, PREL, CB, NL SUBJECT: NETHERLANDS/CAMBODIA: MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE FOR KHMER ROUGE TRIBUNAL REF: SECSTATE 126728 The Dutch would welcome a management committee for the Khmer Rouge Tribunal (KRT) as outlined in reftel, according to Gert Jan van den Hoek (MFA, UN affairs officer) with whom Poloff discussed the points on July 19. The Dutch have already pledged 1.5 million euro to support the work of the court and are clearly interested in having those funds and the court itself well managed. Like the USG, they think the management committee for the Special Court for Sierra Leon (SCSL) has been successful and could serve as a model. Van den Hoek said the Dutch would appreciate an indication on the time frame for U.S. support of the KRT. SOBEL
