Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

S E C R E T SANAA 001954 SIPDIS NOFORN DEPT FOR DS/IP/NEA, DS/IP/ITA, S/CT, NEA/ARPI, NEA/EX DEPT ALSO FOR DS/DSS/CC, DS/DSS/OSAC, CA/OCS CENTCOM FOR POLAD E.O. 12958: DECL: 07/17/2015 TAGS: AEMR, ASEC, AMGT, PTER, CASC, YM, EAC SUBJECT: EMBASSY SANAA EAC MEETING - 7/17/05 Classified By: Charge d'Affaires Nabeel Khoury for Reason 1.4(B) & (D). (S) 1. Embassy EAC convened on 7/17/05 to review local security conditions. EAC was chaired by CDA and included representatives from POLE, POLM, RSO, CONS, PD, MGT, DAO, OMC, FPD, LEGATT, USAID, and CCE-Y. (S) 2. EAC members began by discussing the probable lifting of subsidies on basic goods by the ROYG in the near future. Members agreed that such an event is likely to be met by some sort of public response, but that any response is unlikely to pose a specific risk to the American community. Post will continue to engage on this issue to keep abreast of any new concerns. (S) 3. The committee also discussed reports of possible terrorist planning against targets in Yemen to coincide with upcoming 'spectacular' violence in Iraq. While the EAC agreed that the report warranted caution, it does not mandate a change in Post security posture at this time. EAC members will continue to evaluate the situation as more information becomes available. Khoury
