Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

UNCLAS VIENNA 002397 SIPDIS PARIS FOR USOECD E.O. 12958: N/A TAGS: ECON, EFIN, ETRD, AMGT, AU, OECD SUBJECT: OECD DEMARCHE ON WORKING PARTY FOR GOVERNANCE REFORM: AUSTRIAN RESPONSE REF: STATE 120433 1. Post conveyed reftel talking points on June 29 to Ulrike Magloth, Director of International Economic Affairs in the Federal Chancellery. On July 14, Acting Econ-Pol Counselor met with Magloth to discuss the USG proposal. The GoA, according to Magloth, supported OECD reform that would make the Council more effective. Magloth welcomed the USG proposal and would support the establishment of a working group by the end of July to discuss procedural questions. However, Magloth cautioned that the GoA would not necessarily support the creation of a Bureau of the Council. Magloth opined that the creation of such an entity should result from a deliberative process without any pre-judged outcome. Magloth emphasized that any new mechanism should incorporate the views of all OECD members. Brown
