US embassy cable - 05MASERU364

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

1. (SBU) Ambassador delivered key points on the UN
Peacebuilding Commission and discussed in detail the three (3)
proposed resolutions with Lesotho's Minister of Foreign Affairs
(MFA). Minister Moleleki said that his government supported the
idea of such a Commission. He went on to state his concern that
Africa is in need of such a commission to address crises on the
continent. He was in full support of the roles of the UNGA,
Security Council and ECOSOC. He added further that Lesotho
supports Secretary General Annan's overall recommendations on UN
Reform and could be counted on during the upcoming September
session of the General Assembly for their support.
