the 57th UNGA for Sri Lanka and the Maldives

1.  Per Refs B and C, Mission has requested the 
additional information on VIP attendance at the 57th 
UNGA from the Sri Lankan and Maldivian Governments. 
 
2.  Although the GSL has provided a list of attendees 
(see Ref D), it has not yet provided us all of the 
required additional information for the attending VIPs. 
The only confirmed travel plans to date are those of 
M.M. Jaffeer, the Director of UN and Multilateral 
Affaires at the MFA.  He arrived in the United States on 
September 7.  He will depart JFK on flight AA116 on 
October 10 at 2330hrs. 
 
3.  Below is the list of scheduled VIP attendees to the 
57th UNGA from the Maldivian government, using the 
format outlined in Ref E.  A complete list of attendees, 
including members of the Permanent Mission to the UN in 
New York, has been forwarded to SA/INS. 
 
A. Head of state:

C. Foreign minister: 
-- Foreign Minister Fathulla Jameel 
-- In New York from September 13 to 19 
-- Arriving into JFK on flt. SQ 26 at 1040hrs

-- Spouses travel plans are unknown 
-- English is excellent 
 
D. Other attendees:
