US embassy cable - 05YEREVAN1254

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) Post delivered reftel points regarding the Comprehensive
Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) to MFA UN Desk
Officer Mher Markarian. Markarian said the GOAM "does not
see any obstacles" to support for the Convention. Markarian
promised to contact the GOAM's UN delegation to encourage
active support for a resolution, despite OIC impediments,
before and during the late-July consultations. Markarian
noted that Armenia recently completed the ratification
process for the twelve counterterrorism conventions and
treaties already in force (reftel) and support for CCIT is a
natural extension of the GOAM's anti-terrorism policy.
