US embassy cable - 05PARIS4897

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) Poloff delivered reftel demarche July 13 to Christian
Jouret, the MFA's DAS-equivalent for Egypt and the Levant.
Jouret said France agreed with the points raised in the USG
demarche, and furthermore, FM Douste-Blazy would raise
similar French concerns with PA DPM Nabil Shaath during a
meeting in the late afternoon of July 13. Shaath is in
France for cultural-related issues, although his meeting with
Douste-Blazy is expected to cover political issues. The
Palestinian call for a UNGA special session on the the
separation barrier would be a key point raised by
Douste-Blazy, said Jouret.
