US embassy cable - 05KUWAIT3097

Disclaimer: This site has been first put up 15 years ago. Since then I would probably do a couple things differently, but because I've noticed this site had been linked from news outlets, PhD theses and peer rewieved papers and because I really hate the concept of "digital dark age" I've decided to put it back up. There's no chance it can produce any harm now.

(C) Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Khaled
Al-Jarallah told the Charge d'Affaires during a July 12
meeting that the GOK will oppose a G-4 UNGA resolution to
expand the UN Security Council (UNSC). Al-Jarallah added that
although the GOK's position has already been determined,
Kuwait will still consult with counterparts at three levels
(GCC, Arab League and Organization of Islamic Conferences) on
the matter. He mentioned that many diplomats have visited him
to ask for GOK support for UNSC reform proposals, but until
now the Kuwaitis had not revealed their opposition. "Now it's
time to make our position public," he said.
